Short Report: ON 31 MAY, 2020: Th club donated Rs 4000/- to Udayer Pothey , NGO for supporting distribution of food and other necessary materials to the villagers of Nagenbad, South 24 Pargana whose houses have been ravaged due to the super cyclone - Amphan.

Short Report: ON 6 MARCH, 2020: Charter Presentation Ceremony of Interact Club of Vaishno Devi Academy(HS) at the school premises in th presence of Mrs Mousumi Bhattacharya, Past District Interact Chair. We also conducted a talent search contest to encourage te interactors.

DISEASE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

Short Report: ON 22 DECEMBER, 2019: Organised a FREE MEDICAL Camp at Patuatola Lane, Surya Sen Street, kolkata for the residents of the locality in association with Tarak Nath Memorial Committee . Medical Services provided included blood donation, blood sugar tests, eye Check up, mother and child care and skin. Total Blood Donation- 55. Eye Check up- 45, Skin- 26, Blood Sugar - 50, Mothar and child- 20. We also distributed 100 blankets to the poor.

Short Report: ON 30 NOVEMBER, 2019: Organised a camp on THE ART OF SELF DEFENCE for girls at SNHER HOME, TEGHARIA in association with Bhoruka Public Welfare Trust for 25 underprivileged girls.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & ENHANCING ROTARY’S PUBLIC IMAGE

Short Report: ON 2 OCTOBER, 2019: New dress were given to around 180 underpriviledged girl students of Shanti Rani School, Bansdroni at an event in Rotary Sadan, Kolkata in the presence of Chief Guest Harsh Neotia and DG Elect, in association with Rotaractors and IndusInd Bank.

Short Report: ON 14 SEP, 2019: Oganised a general health check up and cervical cancer and breast cancer awareness camp for the inmates of Shanti Rani School for girls at Bansdron, Kolkataby the doctors from Peerless Hospital.

Short Report: ON 15 AUGUST, 2019: Planted 12 trees at Shibrampur High School for Girls at Behala and distributed healthy food for breakfast to 45 under-priviledge girls between the age group of 8-14 years. The National Flag was also hoisted on the ocasion of Independence Day.

We have recently been approached and visited Sandeshkhali, South 24 Parganas and have been deeply touched at the plight of the students of ‘Shree Shree Ramkrishna Sikhya Niketan’. Run by 20 odd teachers, the school has 2011 students (1110 girls and 901 boys) studying in Classes V- XII. As much as are happy with the number of students, we are equally disturbed with the infrastructure and condition of the school building. The classroom walls need to be renovated and the electrical wiring, lights and fans are in a deplorable condition which needs immediate attention and needs to be replaced.

The condition of the washroom and the number of washrooms compared to that of the huge number of students also needs to be improved as it deals with the health and hygiene of the students. They need minimum of two (2 nos.) washrooms for boys and three (3 nos.) washrooms for girls.

Keeping in mind that most of the students come from a very poor economic strata of the society, whose parents are either farmers of fishermen, thus unable to provide any financial aid to the school.

‘Sri Sri Ramkrishna Sikhya Niketan’ is the only school in the vicinity and plays an active role in mentoring the young generation of the area.

In order to help the school by constructing washrooms and renovating classrooms to provide a decent atmosphere for the pupil, we earnestly appeal to kind-hearted and generous donors from the corporate world who feels they are responsible for the society. We pray your good self to help us with your aid, so that we can achieve our goal together. Your contribution will make a difference in the lives of these needy students who come to the school for education.
